Hello All.

I want to give a homage to my Spanish family for the support in the amazing and exciting new adventure I have started in my life . For them I have created my first images of "TheHouseOfBerto". 

As I am out of the country sometimes I have got the feeling that I am missing out lots of events/moments but I want to let them know that I do love them and I am there/here for anything they might need.

Quiero homenajear a mi familia española por el apoyo recibido, en este ano en el que he empezado un excitante y sorprendente proyecto en mi vida. Para ellos he creado mis primeros dibujos de "TheHouseOfBerto"

Como estoy fuera del pai, tengo el presentimiento que me estoy perdiendo muchos momentos/actos pero quiero que sepan que les quiero mucho y que estoy aquí/alli para lo que necesiten.

Hello All.

Last Friday I saw Anselm Kiefer show at the RAA. Although I have seen some painting from him before, I did not know much about his art of life. The show at RAA is a fabulous walk through of his 40 years of artistic life. 

The first thing you noticed when you come in is, big is bigger. He works on big canvases that make  his work stronger and powerful. His use of patters and texture is sublime. There are big windows of a not very optimistic view, as they are all results of war. It makes you reflect on that subject and you suffer along the way, till you reach the two last rooms of the show (Watercolor's life drawings and big canvases with splash of colour) makes you a believer and led you into an optimistic future. 

Loved it. Highly recommended!!!

El pasado Viernes vi una exposición de pintura en la RAA sobre Anselm Kiefer. Aunque ya había visto otras pinturas del el, no conocía mucho sobre su arte o vida. La exposición te hace viajar a lo largo de sus últimos 40 artísticos anios. 

La primera impresión que tienes cuando entras es el tamaño de sus lienzos, grande es mas grande. El trabaja sobre lienzos grandes que hacen que su trabajo sea mas fuerte y poderoso. El uso de patrones y de textura es sublime. Son grandes ventanas a una vista muy poco optimista de un futuro lleno de guerras. Te hace reflexionar sobre el tema y sufres a traves del camino, hasta que en las dos ultimas habitaciones de la exposición (dibujos en acuarela y grandes lienzos con un detalle en color) hacen que creas y te hagan inclinarte hacia un futuro mas optimista. 

Me encanto. Altamente recomendable.

Felix D'eon

Hello.

Felix D'eon is without a doubt the best Illustrator according to me, of course. His drawing on their own tell you a gay story and you want to know more and more. 

Once my friend David De Kastelaan told me that my drawings reminded him of Felix's drawings. I felt blessed but I know at the same time that he was very kind to me. They are definitely an inspiration to me.

Felix D'eon es sin ninguna duda el mejor ilustrador según mi opinion, por supuesto. Sus dibujos te cuentan una historia gay que te hace querer saber mas y mas. 

Una vez mi amigo David de Kastelaan, me dijo que mis dibujos le recordaban a los de Felix. Me sentí muy alabado pues ya los conocía, pero se que el fue muy amable con su comentario. Ellos son una inspiracion para mi. 

Grillo Demo

Thanks to Topacio Fresh though her Instagram. I saw Grillo Demo's studio in Ibiza. It was a simply photo of his studio but it hooked me to the point of researching about his and his art. Now I have decided to include this artist from Argentina in my blog as his painting/collages move me, although I have seem them in pictures on the Internet. Lets hope I can see them in Madrid at "The Fresh Gallery" this coming months.

Gracias a Topacio Fresh, a traves de su Instagram. Vi una foto del estudio de Grillo Demo. Fue un simple foto de su estudio pero me engancho hasta el punto de empezar a buscar información sobre el y su arte. He decidido incluir a este artista de Argentina en mi blog por que sus pinturas/Collages me emocionan y eso que solo las he visto en Internet. Espero poder verlas en directo en Madrid en "La Fresh Gallery" estos próximos meses.
