Burgos

Hello All.

I am spending a few weeks here so I have decided to dedicated a chapter of blog to my city. Probably all of you know that Burgos is my home town, a city of the northern part of Spain, between Bilbao and Madrid. It is also on the Camino de Santiago. As a Burgales I can tell you that Burgos is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, quiet and easy cities of Spain. 

It is funny but when I was living here before I have moved to UK I was always dreaming of moving out but now that I am away, I am not thinking of coming back as it is too quiet for me but I do really enjoy the huge variety of events, galleries and walks that the city got to offer, which are a few.

Estoy pasando unas semanas aqui, así que he decido dedicar un capitulo del blog a mi ciudad. Probablemente todos sabréis que Burgos es mi ciudad natal, una ciudad del norte de Espana, entre Bilbao y Madrid. Es también paso del camino de Santiago. Como Burgales os puedo decir que Burgos es sin ninguna duda una de la ciudades mas bellas, tranquilas y comodas de Espana. 

Es gracioso pero cuando vivia en Burgos siempre sone con salir de ella algún día, y ahora que llevo tiempo viviendo en UK, no es que quiera volver a Burgos, pero ahora es cuando realmente disfruto de  la gran variedad de eventos, galerías de arte y paseos por la ciudad, que por cierto tiene unos cuantos. 

The Costus - Las Costus

Enrique Naya Igueravide and Juan Jose Carrero Galofre's artistic name was Costus. Both of them were painters and partners in life though out their life. During what it was called La Movida there were a few artists in Spain that in my opinion have changed the way art was till then. One of them are The Costus. 

One was painted figure and the other the background. That way was completely innovative in Spain and it really worked for them. Although the both had died tragically, during their last 10 years of their life they have produced the most amazing pieces of art, although they were not known by the general public.

Las costus como se les conocia artísticamente eran Enrique Naya Igueravide y Juan Jose Carrero Galofre.  Ambos pintores y compañeros en vida hasta prácticamente su muerte. Durante el periodo que se llamo La Movida, había un pequeño grupo de artistas que cambiaron, en mi opinion,  de la manera que se veia al arte de Espana hasta entonces. Por lo menos en pintura. Uno de esos fue Las Costus. 

Uno pintaba a las personas y el otro el fondo. Fue algo que no se había visto hasta entonces y sencillamente funcionaba con ellos. Aunque los dos acabaron tragicamente, durante los últimos diez anos de sus vidas pintaron algunas de las mas interesantes obras aunque no muy conocidos por el publico en general. 

Henry Matisse - Magical world - Mundo Magico

Last Friday I went to Tate Modern to see an exhibition I have been looking forward since last year. Henry Matisse's large collages which he produced during his last years. 

I have also seem for first time sketches of his Chapel. Although I prefer his painting his collages are Wonderful!!!!!!!

El pasado viernes fue a Tate Modern a ver una exposición que tenia muchas ganas de ir, desde el pasado ano. Los collages que Henry Matisse produjo a lo largo de sus últimos anos de vida.

También vi los bocetos del diseño de una capilla que diseño. Aunque prefiero sus pinturas, el trabajo es maravilloso.
