Tino Casal

Hello,

Tino Casal was a very important singer during just the 80s, as he sadly died in a car crashed at the beginning of the 90s. With songs like Champu de huevo, Embruajada and the famous Eloise, made us dance and dream of a new Spain. His way of perform and dress shocked lots of people but his strong charisma won them. He got compared to Liberace. 

He got second in Song Festival of Benidorm 1978 where he won best Young singer and composer. 

But although I love his songs, his career as painter intrigues more. Have a look at small representation and you will see. He said in severals interview that as an painter was more unique and faithful than as a musician. His sculptures are as powerful as his drawing if not more. Shame he could not develop that side due to his premature death in 1991.

Tino Casal fue un importante cantante durante los ochenta, ya que murió en un accidente a principios de los noventa. Con canciones como Champu de Huevo, Embrujada y el famoso Eloise entre todos nos hizo bailar y sonar con una Espana diferente. Su manera de actuar y vestir sorprendió a muchos pero su fuerte carisma les gano a todos. Fue comparada con Liberace.  

Quedo el segundo en el festival de la canción de Benidorm del ano 1978, donde gano como mejor cantante joven y mejor compositor. 

Pero, otra vez, aunque me encantan sus canciones, su carrera como pintor me intriga mas. Mirad a sus cuadros que incluyo and veréis. El reconoció en varias entrevistas que como pintor era mucho mas fiel a su arte que como músico. Sus esculturas son tan fuertes como sus pinturas, sino mas. Lastima que no pudiera desarroparlas mas esa nueva faceta, debido a su prematura muerte and el 1991.

He is a Spanish Designer, very famous in the 80s, as he has designed clothes for many famous people. He designed all clothes for the film "Matador" by Pedro Almodovar.  I would not mind wearing his clothes, as I find them so lively and colourful. If you know me a bit you will understand by looking at photographs attached. 

It is very difficult to find a designer that make clothes for men than are so different from any other as men fashion tent to be very classic and therefore all seem to be the same. But with Francis's design that do not happens. I just need to save lots of money to afford. LOL.

Es un disenador de moda Espanol, muy famoso en los anos 80, ya que vistió a mucha gente famosa de entonces. El es el responsable de todo el vestuario de la película Matador de Pedro Almodovar. No me importaría llevar su ropa ya que la encuentro so llena de vida y color. Si me conoces un poco entenderás en cuanto veas las fotografías que incluyo. 

Es muy dificil encontrar a un diseñador que haga ropa para hombres que sea tan diferentes a otros ya que la moda de hombres tiende a ser mas clásica, así que todo parece ser lo mismo. Pero con los diseños de Francis eso no pasa. Solo necesito poder ahorrar dinero para poder permitirmelos. Hahahaha

Ganymedes and Zeus - Ganimedes y Zeus

Ancient Greek mythology said that Zeus fall in love with a guy named Ganymedes. He was the handsome guy among the mortals. Zeus as God could not resist to that beauty and he wanted to try something new for a change.  He sent and Eagle or converted himself into one to captive him.  They then started an affair that many painters have portrayed though times. Here you go a little sample.

Vieja mitologia griega dice que Zeus se enamoro de un joven llamado Ganimedes.  Era el joven mas guapo de entre los mortales y Zeus como Dios no pudo resistirse a tanta belleza y quiso probar algo nuevo. Envio un Aguila o se convirtió en una para capturarle. Empezaron entonces una aventura que muchos pintores la han plasmado a traves de los tiempos. Aquí teneis algunos ejemplos. 

Sailors - Marineros

There are many references to Sailors and the fact they are all good looking in the photographs make it a good thing especially for female world and gay people. But there is another thing that caught my attention more about them. They do not belong anywhere, they are constantly travelling and as they said they got a partner in every port. No bad for a life, really?

Hay muchas referencias sobre marineros pero el hecho de que todos sean tan atractivos en las fotos les hace mas apetecibles, especialmente para el genero femenino y los gays. Pero hay otra característica que a mi me llama mas la atención y es que no pertenecen a ningún sitio en particular, están constantemente viajando y con diferentes partners en los diferentes puertos a los que van. No esta mal como vida, ehh!!! 

Las fotos incluidas pertenecen a diferentes secuencia de la pelicula "Querelle" y las dos ultimas a trabajos de la pareja de artistas, Pierre et Gilles.

Hello All.

For those of you don't know about him, I will tell you this. Such a great actor. First movie "Jamon Jamon" by Bigas Luna with Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz. then there were more like "I am sorry beauty but Lucas loved me" by Dunia Ayuso with Pepon Nieto. But the most international ones will be "Blow" by Ted Demme with Johnny Deep and Penelope Cruz and "Elizabeth, the Golden Years" with Cate Blanchet by Shekhar Kapur. 

In spite of his career in the performing business, the reason I am including him in my blog is because of his paintings. He is also a painter, a self-taugh one. He started painting as a hobby to fill up those solitude moments while filming in Paris long ago and he has not stopped. 

The pictures I am showing here are related to my work as he paints faces in such strong way which perturbed me but makes me look at them wondering of so many things about them.

Para aquellos que no le conozcan, solo dire que es un gran actor.  Su primera película fue "Jamon, Jamon" de Bigas Luna con Javier Bardem y Penelope Cruz, luego llegaron mas como "Perdona bonita pero Lucas me quería a mi" de Dunia Ayuso con Pepon Nieto.  Pero las mas internacionales en su carrera son "Blow" de Ted Demme con Johnny Deep y Penelope Cruz y "Elizabeth, los anios dorados" con Cate Blanchet de Shekhar Kapur.  

A pesar de su labor como actor la razón que le incluya en mi blog es por que pinta.  El también es un pintor,  instruido por el mismo.  Empezo a pintar para entretenerse en los momentos de soledad cuando filmaba en Paris hace un tiempo y no ha parado desde entonces. 

Los dibujos que muestro están relacionados con mi trabajo de ahora ya que pinta caras de una manera mucho mas fuerte y agresiva que me perturba pero me hace mirarlos mas preguntandome muchas cosas de ellos.
