Instagram

Hello All.

As you probably knows I do hold an account in Instagram called "TheHouseOfBerto". In there I post pics of my latest work. It is a sort of picture's diary of my life. 

Instagram is such a good source of inspiration to me as I have found so many talented people in there that I now follow.  It is like going to a art library.

Como ya sabréis, tengo una cuenta en Instagram que llamo "TheHouseOfBerto". Alli pongo imágenes de mi trabajo mas actual. Es como un diario fotográfico de mi vida. 

Instagram es una fuente buenísima de inspiración para mi, ya que allí he encontrado tanta gente con mucho talento y que ahora sigo. Es como ir a una biblioteca de arte.

New Style/Nuevo Estilo

Hello.

I am still drawing faces using "Brushes" on my Ipad but I do only emphases on painting eyes and lips. For the background I am using pics from my projects, when I was studying Art and Design. This way I want to keep the character that I am choosing more in a mystic state. I do not want to define him/her as they are but how I imagine them.

Sigo dibujando caras usando la aplicación "Brushes" en mi Ipad pero solo me centro en perfilar y pintar los ojos y labios. Para el fondo, estoy usando images de mis proyectos cuando estaba estudiando Arte y Diseño. De esta manera, quiero conservar para el personaje que elijo un estado de misticismo. No quiero definirle como son en realidad, sino como yo me los imagino. 

Roman Head Series

Last year I went to Italy for a weeding and I have ended staying for a extra week travelling across the north part of the country till Rome. In Rome, I took a picture of this head and I have created this series of Roman Head. When you see a peace of art like that it is hard not to image that behind hides something greater. This is a small homage to that trip. Background are pictures that I have taken while I was doing my course in Art and Design.

El año pasado fui a Italia por una boda y acabe quedándome una semana mas de vacaciones viajando por la parte norte hasta Roma. Tome una foto de un busto Romano que después he creado en una serie de Cabezas Romanas. Cuando ves una obra de arte como esta, es divicil no imaginar que detrás hay algo mucho mas grande. Este es un pequeño homanaje a ese viaje. El fondo de los dibujos son de fotografías que he tomado durante el tiempo que estuve cursando el Diploma en Arte y Diseño.

Burgos on canvas/Burgos sobre Lienzo

Hello All.

During my Easter holidays in Burgos I have visited the Teatro Principal's museum where I have seen this canvas which shown my small but beautiful city seen by several artists.

He is best known for his photography, which often references art History and sometimes conveys social messages. His photographic style has been described as "hyper-real and subversive" and as "kitsh pop surrealism". In my opinion they are amazingly strong, colourful and very shocking, showing ourselves in our culture.

El es mas conocido por sus fotografías, en las cuales toma la historia del arte como referencia con mensaje. El estilo de sus fotografías ha sido descrito como "super real y subversivo" y como "pop surrealismo de mal gusto". Para mi, son maravillosamente fuertes, coloridas y muy impactantes, mostrándonos en nuestra cultura.
